Heritage days - Ermitage du Val Saint Jean

The society of history of Kaysersberg invites you to discover a remote relic in the forest: the Ermitage du Val Saint Jean.
Its origins date back to 1120, when the first stones were laid by the Counts of Eguisheim. Now in ruins, it bears witness to a rich spiritual past. Buried in the greenery, its remains retain an atmosphere of mystery and serenity.
Volunteers from the association welcome you and provide explanations under marquees and on the site itself.
Discover the exhibition on panels presenting the history of the site and the great "adventure" that enabled a passionate team to clear and then reassemble the walls to bring this beautiful ruin back to life.
Snacks and refreshments on site.
Signposting to the site.
To make the day even more convivial, we'll be serving drinks and snacks under one of the marquees.
Access will be signposted.
