Concert by the Trombinacoolos Ensemble  

The Trombinacoolos ensemble was created in 2018 as a trombone quartet. Its members are Dominique Roux, Florian Jung, Emmanuel Gérard and Christophe Ledru. These four seasoned musicians have scoured a number of concert halls with programs based on original works written for this group. In 2020, the idea emerged of expanding the group to take on a more jazz...and even rock repertoire. So they enlisted the services of an unrivalled rhythm section featuring 3 "hand-picked" musicians well known on the region's jazz/rock scene. This sextet formation is unprecedented in the Grand Est region of France and beyond. Inspired by an ensemble that performed in the 80s, it can touch on all styles. That's how Trombinacoolos got in touch with François Guin (Charles Aznavour's former trombonist), who provided the necessary musical equipment. Another contact in the USA with Carl Lundgren, a well-known trombonist, enabled the repertoire to be completed with more modern pieces and arrangements of emblematic tunes (by the group Toto, for example). Trombinacoolos is dedicated to putting the trombone in a different light. Some people would never have thought of this instrument as a rock instrument... and yet!
