FLUTE : FEDERICO ALTARE
PIANO : MARTIN JASPARD
Based on a predominantly French programme, this concert illustrates the evolving role of the flute over two centuries (from the early 19th to the late 20th century). Federico Altare and Martin Jaspard will take us on a journey through the different musical styles that have characterised music for flute and piano, the impressionism of Debussy and Gaubert, the classicism of Devienne and the post-modernism of André Jolivet.
Federico Altare, an outstanding flautist who has taken part in competitions such as the ARD Music Competition in Munich, the Geneva International Competition and the Carl Nielsen Flute Competition in Odense, will be demonstrating his exceptional mastery of his instrument.
Alongside him is Martin Jaspard, a prodigious pianist with an impressive track record, who began his early training at the age of 5. A student at the Paris Conservatoire, he perfected his talent under the guidance of eminent pianists such as Claire Désert and David Bismuth.
Two great artists in the making for a festive programme!
