Eguisheim, authentic village
Eguisheim is one of the most beautiful and typical villages in Alsace with its concentric alleys with richly flowered half-timbered houses. The city surrounded by hills covered with vines is overlooked by the Trois-Châteaux which watch over it.
Ribeauvillé, city of "Ribeaupierre"
This medieval city, seat of the seigniory of the Ribeaupierre family, gave its name to the city. Famous for its Three Castles which dominate it, it bears witness to a renowned wine-growing heritage and authentic half-timbered houses. Even today, it retains part of its ramparts, including its defensive towers such as the "Tour des Bouchers".
Riquewihr, the pearl of the vineyard
This medieval city located in the heart of the Alsatian vineyard is classified among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France". Recognized worldwide for its renowned wines, called "Pearl of the Alsatian vineyard", it preserves its authenticity today behind its double enclosure thanks to its rich heritage from the 15th to the 18th centuries.
Mont Sainte-Odile and Obernai
Obernai, the legendary birthplace of Sainte Odile, is located 25 km south-west of Strasbourg. This fortified town was at its peak in the 16th century thanks to crafts and wine-growing. A former city of the Decapolis, its belfry dominates the historic centre, with its rich array of half-timbered houses dating from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Find the guild emblems on the facades.
Continue your visit by going to Mont Saint-Odile, a major pilgrimage site dedicated to Sainte Odile, patron saint of Alsatians. Magnificent views over the Alsace plain to the Black Forest. Visit the sanctuary on foot: discover the tomb of Sainte Odile, the Chapelles des Larmes and des Anges, the panoramic terrace and the miraculous spring (15 minutes on foot).
