This gite is located almost in the centre of Alsace, in Volgelsheim, near Neuf Brisach;

This pied à terre, will allow you in a short time to go south to Mulhouse, a town with an industrial past, in which you will visit a few museums: the Cité du Train, the Musée National de l'Automobile, the Musée Electropolis, or go as far as Ungersheim to discover the Ecomusée d'Alsace.

Heading west, you'll find Colmar, a city with a rich heritage and the capital of the Alsace Wine Route. Pushing on a little further, the picturesque villages, such as Eguisheim, Turckheim, Kaysersberg, Hunawihr and many others, wine towns with plenty of charm to admire the beauty of the surroundings and proceed to a wine tasting.

Head north, 80km away to the unmissable Alsatian city par excellence, Strasbourg. You'll stroll through the old town to discover the Petite France district and, of course, contemplate the Cathedral. Make the most of your trip to take a fly boat tour and discover the city's architectural heritage, the Neustadt district and also the European institutions and its parliament.

For the more courageous, without being a born sportsman, there's nothing more pleasant than hiking in the Vosges, where signposted routes will take you to the summits of the Route des Crêtes and farm inns, without missing the countless castles.

From Volgelsheim, a network of cycle paths will allow you to criss-cross all the nooks and crannies of the Alsace plain, and travel from north to south, east to west, and even across the border into Germany. In Volgelsheim, a village bordering the German border, there's nothing more obvious than visiting the region, the city of Freiburg im Breisgau, the internationally renowned theme parks "Europa Park and Rulantica", and the Black Forest.
