Theatre - We, free quarter  

In We, free quarter, we set out to investigate the meaning of life - if indeed there is one - and the capacity of human beings to be happy or unhappy when questioning that meaning. We set the stage with six characters who have just had a carnival. They have just let go of everything, overturned, expelled, dared. They have taken off their masks and costumes and stand before us tired and drained. But we're going to have to go back to normal, everyday life, with all its obligations and lack of possibilities. One question: what does this carnivalesque reversal have to offer in terms of a desire for freedom? The challenge with Nous, quartier libre is to leave the stage in the hands of the performers, to question their creative freedom and see if this can help to make sense of things. It's a chance for us, the audience, to get caught up in this whirlwind of play, without knowing if there's an end to it. We want to cross a large stage with all this investigation in a joyous, carnivalesque and festive farandole to share with the whole world our nose in the form of a burst of laughter.
