At the crossroads I've reached, wandering freely between song and theatre like Little Red Riding Hood on the advice of the wolf, I've recorded an album with Tôt ou Tard featuring songs from my repertoire and poems from my novel Dieu sur Terre (God on Earth).
Arranger and producer Clément Ducol chose to surround me with the ‘SR9’ trio of percussionists, wrapping my stories in the unsettling vibrations of their xylophone, vibraphone, glockenspiel, marimba and prepared piano. These instruments accentuate the unreality of my characters, their shadows lengthening like ours at dusk.
My conception of scenography leads me to reject the frozen image in favour of the living image, created in the moment by the word, the silence, the gesture, and the waves produced by these blades of metal and wood, in an attempt to show the invisible at the heart of the theatrical space.
