Colmar International Festival - Bertrand Chamayou transcends Ravel
piano : Bertrand Chamayou
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Maurice Ravel, Bertrand Chamayou invites us to explore the essence of his piano work with him.
Ravel was an astonishing innovator from the outset (Jeux d'eau, Pavane pour une infante défunte), daring to use harmonies that were as seductive as they were unheard of. With his great cycles (Miroirs, Gaspard de la nuit, Tombeau de Couperin), he was to open up new avenues not only on the piano, but more generally in music. A milestone in history, offered to us here by one of the greatest Ravelians of our time.
