Colmar International Festival - Le concert de la loge : echo of Venice
Le Concert de la Loge
Conductor & violin : Julien Chauvin
Counter-tenor : Tim Mead
Antonio Vivaldi was one of the most brilliant composers of the 18th century. A dazzling virtuoso, he left for his instrument concertos of an unprecedented modernity, full of verve and imagination. His vocal work, equally masterful, oscillates between the sacred and the profane with equal felicity.
For these pieces, whether it be the very famous Nisi Dominus or the amorous cantata Cessate, omai cessate, Julien Chauvin has chosen to call upon the prodigious British countertenor Tim Mead.
An exceptional concert, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the creation of his ensemble ‘Le Concert de la Loge’.
