Exhibition - Coucou by Hermine Anthoine

Add to my calendar 06-07-2024 12:00 06-10-2024 Europe/Paris Exhibition - Coucou by Hermine Anthoine "COUCOU" implies that we already know each other, or that we share a common universe, in a familiar way, I admit.
It's a furtive invitation to catch your eye, to take a step sideways or backwards, a diversion.
"COUCOU" is also a childish interjection, the same two syllables echoing the very first game we played with our parents, hiding and revealing their faces behind their hands.
Perhaps the key to the exhibition lies in the impermanence of things that I feel are "just like everyone else", in which the elements that surround us are sometimes transposed, dismantled, melted down and recreated as sculptures until they become installations: so many time capsules with which I lead the viewer into meditative, even hypnotic works that are often melancholy and disenchanted, but highly poetic and sometimes even humorous.
Finally, 'COUCOU' is the bird with the melodious song that steals someone else's nest; ambivalent and all the more heady when it's the clock that sings every hour.
