Exhibition - Soleil Noir by François Génot
François Génot field of research lies at the edges and in the interstices... where he tackles the sacred and the living.
For François Génot, interstices such as wasteland and hedgerows are an infinite playground. This Soleil Noir exhibition was inspired by Cranach the Elder's Melancholy, a painting dating from 1532 and on show at the Musée Unterlinden.
The artist spent a great deal of time in the hedgerows of Noirlac, at the edge of the centuries-old, subdued forests of Bambois, in the spontaneous willow groves on the banks of the Saar, or in the heart of the brambles of Wolfskirchen. This exhibition takes us between the skin and the bark... Colmar artsplastiques@colmar.fr
