Listening to the world
A journey of listening to the sounds that punctuate our lives and conjure up images from our memory. In this hybrid show, Pauline Ringeade continues her exploration of our relationship with the living world, combining intimate storytelling with sensitive experience.
Claire Rappin is an actress, singer and musician. She is also the unique and multiple character of Silence Vacarme, guiding us towards the sources of her own story. After the strange experience of confinement, Claire rediscovers a world full of life, in the heart of a forest. Sounds that open the doors of her memory and conjure up childhood landscapes, the house, the garden like a miniature universe. And then there's her mother, and her grandmother, a Spanish emigrant, who uses the sound of words to conjure up other traces, other places. By letting us hear the voices of the women in her family, Claire is also telling the story of the fight for the emancipation of our bodies and our imaginations. On a white stage, a sound garden populated by speakers and musical instruments, Claire narrates, sings and plays live music, sometimes accompanied by a choir of recorded voices, in a luminous environment of moving colours, echoing the vibration of the sounds. With this new work, Pauline Ringeade invites us to listen with an open ear, so that we can better care for living things in all their forms.
