Add to my calendar 13-09-2025 20:00 13-09-2025 Europe/Paris Concert - Dorothea Jakob, soprano, and the Neuss Chamber Orchestra Moving music for soprano and orchestra’
The Neuss Chamber Orchestra (NKO) and its conductor Joachim Neugart invite you to a concert with soloist on Saturday, 13 September at 8:00 p.m. at the Protestant Church of St. Matthew in Colmar.
A varied programme awaits visitors, featuring the following works:
Soprano Dorothea Jakob performs Luigi Boccherini's ‘Stabat mater’, a work that touches the heart with its expressive diversity and contrast. She also sings Felix Mendelssohn's ‘Salve Regina’ and Gabriel Fauré's ‘Pie Jesu’.
The Neuss Chamber Orchestra will complete the programme with the Adagio from Anton Bruckner's String Quintet in F major and Felix Mendelssohn's Fifth Symphony for Strings.
The Neuss Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1957 by Professor Wilhelm Schepping. Since its inception, the orchestra's goal has been to intensively encourage particularly gifted young soloists by offering them challenging experiences in the fields of orchestral music, chamber music and solo performance. The ‘Young Artists (from Neuss) Concerts’ series, which continues every year at the winter concert, was launched in 1965.
In 1999, Joachim Neugart, cantor at the Quirinusmünster Cathedral in Neuss, began collaborating with the NKO. Over the past 20 years, the orchestra has toured Canada, the United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and many European countries.
