Violin/piano concert - Hugo Meder & Arthur Hinnewinkel
In November, the second concert of the season will showcase the values of excellence that AJAM has upheld since its inception. The programme features Hugo Meder, a local talent who has made a name for himself on the international scene with his trio, and Arthur Hinnewinkel, originally from Wissembourg, whose remarkable performances were noticed at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium last spring.
A generous and sensitive artist and accomplished chamber musician, Hugo Meder is taking a break from the trio to focus on German Romantic sonatas – a passion he shares with Arthur Hinnewinkel, a young virtuoso pianist.
At the crossroads of these two affinities, Schumann will feature with two major works, including the enigmatic Sonata No. 3. As for Schubert, another great figure of the period, he will seal the complicity of this beautiful and joyful collaboration.
Hugo Meder, who has won numerous awards, distinguished himself in a trio this spring with a recording that was unanimously praised by critics. Winner of the Thierry Scherz Prize in 2024 and a prize winner at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in May 2025, Arthur Hinnewinkel has devoted a recording to Robert Schumann's concertante works.
Programme:
Robert Schumann, Sonata No. 3 in A minor, Wo027
Franz Schubert, Sonata in A major, Op. 162
Robert Schumann, Sonata No. 2 in D minor, Op. 121
