Descriptif lieu
Accessible only from the Volerie des Aigles (entrance fee payable).
The castle was first mentioned in 1270. Purchased by the town of Sélestat in the 15th century, it was sold in the 17th century. It comprises a circular keep with a shield wall, dwellings and a chapel.
The site is home to the Aviary of Eagles, which offers an impressive and breathtaking spectacle that is guaranteed to thrill and excite: the free flight of the world's largest birds of prey in the ruins of the castle. It's a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with birds that would never be seen in the wild.
In this medieval setting, the world's most beautiful birds of prey fly just a few centimetres from the public. (source : www.uperrhinevalley.com)
