Descriptif lieu

The Gutenbourg castle was built at an altitude of 800m on a rocky spur. Its occupants watched over the passage between Alsace and Lorraine and levied a toll. It belonged to the Counts of Eguisheim and then to the Counts of Ferrettes, and was returned to the Habsburgs in 1324, who gave it in fief to the Ribeaupierre. The latter gave it to the Laveline family in 1329 and 1441. At the beginning of the 15th century, it returned to the Ribeaupierre family who abandoned it in the following century.
